She is one of the few females representing professional athletes in this male-dominated field. Redd is originally from Lufkin, TX, and resides in Houston. Kitty Oliver is a writer, professor, and diversity workshop instructor. She teaches multi-cultural and diversity courses at Florida International University in North Miami. This former journalist with the Miami Herald produced a series of documentaries for P.B.S. which outlined the benefits of understanding our rich and diverse society. Oliver is originally from Jacksonville, FL, and currently resides in Fort Lauderdale. R.E.A.L. H.O.P.E. is an organization dedicated to ending racism, sexism, and a host of maladies contaminating our society. The acronym stands for “Healing Opression in People Everywhere.” Founders Hattie Pembrook and Mary Meyers hold seminars throughout their hometown of Detroit promoting a “re-evaluation counseling” concept. Their work is positive, informative, and widely accepted in the state of Michigan. |
